Kim Petras descrie “If Jesus Was A Rockstar” ca o piesa de aventură, spunând că a fost scrisă după ce s-a luptat cu spiritualitatea ei din cauza pandemiei. „ În copilărie, toți prietenii mei mergeau la lucruri precum împărtășania, dar m-am simțit întotdeauna exclus. Poate că dacă religia ar fi fost mai rece și mai acceptabilă pentru persoanele LGBTQ+, poate aș fi mers la biserică și aș fi găsit un loc pentru mine în ea, dar nu am făcut-o și probabil nu o voi face niciodată.
